- Symbolism: The unit participation in three
campaigns during World War II in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater
is represented by the equilateral triangle adopted from the flag
of the Philippines, and the three wavy bars. The assault landings
of the Luzon and Southern Philippines campaigns are represented
by the two arrowheads. The gold sun symbol, from the Philippine
flag and Presidential Seal, and the scarlet scroll, signify awards
of the Philippine Presidental Unit Citation and the Meritorious
Unit Commendation, respectively.
