Symbolism: The white cross reflects the medical mission of the unit and implies purity and integrity. The black crossed double headed S-spanners to the solidity and support of the unit's mission in maintenance. The heraldic frets are emblematic of the interdependence and multiple support capabilities of the unit; their interlacing reflects the various aspects of the unit's mission and its importance to the total military preparedness. The lion's head is symbolic of the unit's pride, strength and determination, underscoring the unit's motto.
