Naval Landing Force Equipment Depot, Albany
 

With the onset of World War II, the United States Navy took over Golden Gate Fields racetrack as the "Albany Naval Landing Force Equipment Depot" for the storing and repair of hundreds of landing craft destined for use in the Pacific theater. After the war, Golden Gate Fields resumed horse racing.
