The California Center for Military History is a
unit of the California State Military Reserve (CSMR), California's
State Defense Force organized under the provisions of the Title
32, United States Code, Section 109 and the California State Military
Reserve Act (Sections 550 through 567, California Military and
Veteran's Code.) The CSMR is the volunteer, uniformed backup and
support organization of the California Army and Air National Guard.
Its members are subject to call by the Governor of the State of
California and are subject to the Uniform Code of Military Justice
(UCMJ). Members wear a modified Army uniforms when performing
authorized duty.The CSMR also has several cadre strength support
battalions; located throughout the state, providing support, in
a non-paid status, to brigade and division level organizations
of the California Army National Guard.
The CCMH is affiliated with the United States
Army Center of Military History.
The CCMH currently is recruiting former NCO's, warrant and commissioned
officers of the Armed Forces to serve in a wide variety of positions.
