- An Army outpost was established on November
27, 1867, at Pah-Ute Spring in the eastern Mojave Desert, San
Bernardino County, by troops of Company D, 9th Infantry, from
Camp Mojave. The post's buildings, erected by the infantrymen,
were maintained until May 3,1868.
