A Mexican Border patrol post was established at San Diego in March 1911 when Colonel Charles St. J Chubb with ten companies orf the 30th Infantry, aggregating 703 men, arrived there on March 10. The command left the Presidio of San Francisco on March 7 in compliance with General Orders No. 21. It is believed that this camp may have operated until 1917.
