Lighthouse Point Post
 
Company I, 2nd Infantry, commanded by Captain Edward R. Theller, on orders dated August 1, 1864, was directed to take his troups to Lighthouse Point on the Samoa Peninsula, Humboldt Bay, in HumboldtCounty, to guard Indian prisoners kept there awaiting disposition. Another source indicated that the post was occupied in 1865.
